An Empirical Study Of The University Students’ Political Values Influencing Factors

With the promotion of Socialist political democratization, our country is in the pivotal period, which is from traditional society to contemporary society. That makes the Social material level change hugely, and ideology and culture collide with values, which stimulate the fervor of the pursuing of a new value system. The education of political value is an important part of university students’value education, and it is also the popular subject among ideological and political education nowadays. Researching university students’ political values has the theoretical value and practical significance both in value education and constructing a harmonious socialist society with Chinese characteristics.Based on Marx humanist political view, western political socialization and political realism, this dissertation investigates several universities, combines the case interviews, utilizes the SPSS, analyzes the situation and influencing factors in political value and gives suggestions about university students’value education.There are five parts of this dissertation.The first part:Introduction. It focuses on the background, purpose, strategy and the innovation of this research, and it also introduces the present situation and the literature review.The second part:Research strategy. It introduces theoretical basis and core concepts; makes index about political value and effects; puts forward research contents, though and hypothesis; research methods:data collection and analytic methods, sample data statistical analysis method, and the basic characteristics of the sample data.The third part:Describes and evaluates research framework, the present situation of political value, and analyses the problem and differences. University students have a firm political stand but in low political trust; their political value are partial to democracy; the judgment of political value is positive, but sense of political efficacy is flat.The forth part:Analyzing individual factors, family factors school factors and social factors. The results show that the social political economic and cultural, mass media and campus culture have a huge influence, but family education and personal feature have a relatively weak influence.The fifth part:Suggestions. Based on the present situation and the factors of university students’political value, this dissertation puts forward the suggestions about how to take shape the positive political value, including government in-depth reform of the political system and promoting socialist democracy; establishing a good social atmosphere and guiding the mainstream values; strengthening the construction and management of network media and helping the college students to broaden their view of politics; intensifying the ideological and political theory course innovation in colleges and universities and creating harmonious campus culture environment; actively developing the advanced party member in a peer group of exemplary role and improving of college student’s political quality.
