Mathematics transformation thought, as one of the basic teaching methods, which is almost used throughout all secondary school mathematics, is in line with the thinking skills of secondary school students and their real life experience. The thought has always been attached great importance to by the majority of mathematical educators. Adopting transformation thoughts in mathematics teaching can improve teaching efficiency, develop students’ mathematical thinking skills and improve the quality of teachers’ methodology and students’ learning method in secondary schools.This paper describes the basic gist of mathematics transformation thought and its interaction of teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. It summarizes the relevant research in both vertical and horizontal respect. Meanwhile, it analyzes the related theories about mathematics transformation thought. Putting theory into practice, the paper analyzes the effects of the mathematics transformation thought in middle school mathematics teaching.On the basis of the above study, the paper describes an effective way of applying transformation thought in high school mathematics. First, improve the knowledge system. Next, in different stages of teaching, combine the idea of "thematic and usual penetrate", and put this idea into presenting new knowledge, the problem-solving training and revision in daily teaching. Finally, try to avoid the side effect of over-using mathematics transformation thought.The intentionally application of the methodology in daily mathematics class has a very positive and far-reaching significance in promoting the study of mathematics teaching, improving teachers’ quality, developing students’ mathematical creativity and promoting the application of mathematics in other areas.
