Due to the existence of abstract and difficult knowledge in physics class, students are nervous about physics. Because focusing more on the cultivation of students’ abstract thinking than the cultivation of imagery thinking, the physical education is confronted with a great difficulty in learning and teaching. By sorting out and refine the literatures, this study attempts to present a thorough study of how to develop students’ imagery thinking in physics teaching.Firstly, based on the literature research, the study offers comprehensive and systematic induction and exploration in the related theory about physical imagery thinking, and analyzes the important position of the imagery thinking in physics study.Secondly, from the perspective of teachers and students, the study investigates and analyzes the current high school physics teaching in cultivating students’ imagery thinking by questionnaire survey and interview. Then the study presents the problems existing in training students’ imagery thinking.Thirdly, combining with the survey results, the study puts forward the principles and approaches implementing in the cultivation of the students’ imagery thinking in physics teaching.Lastly, through the teaching practice and interviews, the study tests the feasibility and effectiveness of strategy implementation.According to the above analysis, we can get the conclusion of this study:1、It is important to cultivate students’ imagery thinking in high school physics teaching;2、Putting into practice in the classroom is the weak point in cultivating imagery thinking;3、The article presents the principles and approaches implementing in the cultivation of the students’ imagery thinking in physics teaching.
