The process of mathematics learning is full of thinking process. Thinking is the core of mathematical cognitive structure, which determines the mathematics learning activities. In modern mathematics teaching people put much emphasis on student's thinking ability development, and figuratively call mathematics "gymnastics of thinking". This is because mathematics is a way to demonstrate the establishment of the discipline. In order to proof the logical argument, one must make unremitting efforts. Such spirit is beneficial for all learners. It will not only help cultivate learner's good habit of thinking which is conducive to the formation of well-thought strategy, but also enhance people's ability of quick response. Therefore, the aim of education is not just to pass simple exams, but to achieve quality education. Czech educator Comenius:"we can set a golden rule for teachers. As long as it is realizable, all things should be put in front of the senses." Albert Einstein once described him thinking process this way:I think about the issue not in language, but rather in moving images. When such thinking is completed, then I will take great efforts to convert them into language. We can see imagery thinking's important role in mathematical thinking. The middle school students'physical and psychal advantages of imagery thinking tell us:Now it is good time to cultivate student's imagery thinking ability.Mathematical thinking is the process of human brain which reflects of the intrinsic properties and relationships of mathematical objects. Issues related to this topic is a hot pot of the current high school mathematics teaching study. Nowadays lots of novel mathematical problems about imagery thinking appears in the secondary school math test, such as the exam from-primary-to-junior-middle-school, college entrance exam. "The new curriculum standards" also regards student's imagery thinking ability development as an important goal of mathematics learning, and makes adjustment on teaching materials accordingly. With the gradually deepen scientific research and the development of mathematics education, to develop student's innovation ability has become the main theme of mathematics education. Mathematical thinking, especially imagery thinking has increasingly become an important research topic of mathematics education. This thesis first carries out a basic analysis of imagery thinking and subsequently discusses its basic theory. In light of his own teaching practice and previous studies, the author analyzes the current problems combining with investigation and survey, and analyzes the imagery thinking's importance in middle school mathematics learning based on the teaching and learning theory and practice. Then on the foundation of above researches, the author further points out the approach to cultivate student's imagery thinking capacity complying with the secondary school mathematics education reform. This paper explores the meaning of imagery thinking form the basis of the basic theory and practice, and explores the cultivation of imagery thinking combining the daily mathematics teaching and learning, for the purpose of getting a better understanding of the important role of developing and improving imagery thinking to students in teaching practice, further to staminate students to pay more attention to the cultivation of imagery thinking. Mathematics educators also need to be good at using theories of pedagogy, psychology and brain science so as to encourage students think free from the constraints imposed by the logic, and focusing on enrich student's graphics and image schema, cultivating the imagery thinking ability of students, and improving student's thinking ability to cultivate student's sense of innovation and innovation capacity-building.
