With the rapid development of economic and social, mankind has entered the era of knowledge and economy, however, the lack of talents with innovation abilities is still a urgent problem to solve for each industry. First, Innovative talents should have thinking ability of innovation, and the high school stage is the critical period for the formation and development of students’ ability of thinking. Reverse thinking serving as a divergent innovative thinking, is a necessary way of thinking for innovative talents,and it is a very important significance to cultivate students’ ability of reverse thinking in high school physics teaching.In this paper, the concept of thinking and reverse thinking are defined on the basis of consulting a large number of documents related to thinking and reverse thinking; we introduce the types and characteristics of reverse thinking; And the present situation of training of reverse thinking in high school physics teaching are also investigated and analyzed; Based on theory of thinking cultivation and theory of teaching and learning, we discuss some teaching strategies to cultivate the students’ ability of reverse thinking in high school physics concepts, experiment and exercise teaching. In the teaching of concept: reverse thinking ability can be cultivated by establishing physics situation through reverse thinking, guiding and encouraging students to think and guess reversely, changing the way of asking the question, thinking bi-directional and multidirectional, and comparative analyzing the reciprocal factors; In the teaching of experimental: reverse thinking ability can be cultivated by unconventional demonstration experiment, changing verification experiment into exploration test, exploring different way of experiment, positive improving and innovating experiment using reverse thinking; In the teaching of exercises: reverse thinking ability can be cultivated by overcoming fixed thinking modes, solving one problem with different methods, solving problem in accordance with the principle of reversibility, solving problem with reversing causality and normal procedure, solving problem with conversing the research objects or questions. According to the teaching strategy in teaching experiment, it shows that the strategies of training reverse thinking ability is effective and desirable, the students’ interest in learning physics has been significantly improved, the consciousness of thinking through a different set of eyes has been enhanced, and thinking become more flexible, innovative thinking ability has also been improved effectively.
