World history is occupying a very important subject status in Middle School History Teaching, and according to the trend of globalization, world history is irreplaceable in the stage of basic education and moral education.This paper is basing on the methods of theoretical research, comparative analysis and questionnaire investigation, and it is trying to make a detailed exposition for improving the teaching of high school world history, it can points out the problems in the teaching and the strategies to improve it combining with the author’s thinking in the teaching practice.Through the research, the plight of the world history teaching arrives at the following conclusions:reduction of the interest in world history learning, the incorrect learning methods of world history; Teachers’teaching objectives are unclearly, and they can’t take the right teaching methods on world history with clear target. There are mainly three reasons for this: First, it’s because the students’learning method is passive, and their world history knowledge is limited. And second, the textbook’s arrangement is jumping under the background of the new curriculum reform. Thirdly, the teachers’teaching philosophy is outmoded and the qualities of them are unevenly. The correct solution to improve the teaching of world history at the high school is teaching which benefits teacher as well as students. Bring into full play the initiative of both teachers and students, the teaching reforms of world history need to go hand in hand with instructional methods of study. According to subject characteristics of world history, it is developing the mainstay functions of students through teachers, and promoting the professional growth of Teachers.
