With the increasing demands of today’s society on the level of quality education in middle school, middle-school teacher as the main force of the students quality education at the forefront of their competence gradually by the attention of scholars. They should have what kind of work be considered to do the job? How would you assess the extent and characteristics of the development of their competence? These problems do middle school teacher cultivation of great value.This study from both theoretical and empirical, is currently the middle school teacher competency requirements review, and analyze the deficiencies and limitations of present study there. On this basis, the paper draws on research on middle school teacher competency of domestic and foreign; using documents, behavioral event interview on the middle school teacher competency model for an initial exploratory study. The empirical study includes two parts:(1) to investigate the competence, using the behavioral event interview, pre-interviewed five outstanding middle school teacher. Initially identified in the theoretical analysis and interviews with the text on basis of a middle school teacher competency, competent force dictionary "first draft of the preparation of middle school teacher;(2) Use of behavioral event interviews, interviews with24middle school teacher, which, excellent teacher, and ordinary class teacher12each. The respondents’teacher did not know that they have been assigned to which group, a single-bind design. The teacher detailed classification requires an interview he had done as a class teacher during three successful events and three failure events. Interview the whole recording and text transcription, the final print to produce the raw data for conceptualization of competence, namely,24copies of the interview recording text, a total of140,000words. Then, the text content encoded to from a "middle school teacher competent force dictionary" first draft, quantitative comparison of different performance group of middle school teacher competency different performance group of middle school teacher competency differences, to build a middle school teacher competency model.The main research results obtained are as follows:(1preliminary preparation of middle school teacher competency dictionary.The dictionary is qualified for the feature dictionary and competency dictionary as the basic material, compiled on basis of interviews and discussions. The dictionary, a total of27competency, namely:fair, teamwork, observation, sensitivity, self-confidence, predictability, adaptability, self-control, dedication, coordination, communication, power, endurance, empathy, expression, ability, written language, respect for the spoken language, expertise, trust, contact with students’parents, resource sharing, creativity, organizational cohesion, a positive assessment of students, colleagues to maintain the relationship, to grasp the students mental states, gathering information (work experience, teaching resources, student information), good interaction with students.(2)To build a middle school teacher competency model.The construction of the middle school teacher competency model to include a middle school teacher competency and middle school teacher shared a competency. Among them, the outstanding middle school teacher competency fair, observant, self-confidence, dedication, endurance, power of communication, predictability, coordination, teamwork, empathy, professionalism, counseling ability, training others to the13characteristics.General-purpose teacher competence:Communication skills, expertise, trust, respect and contract with parents, resource sharing, innovation, organization cohesion and written, to interact with students, colleagues relationship maintenance information gathering(Teaching resources, work experience, student data) positive assessment of the students to master the14characrteristics of studens’mental state. The conclusions of this study on the innovation of the existing teacher management style middle school teacher, middle school teacher hiring, training, assessment provides the basis of empirical research has practical significance and application value.
