Curriculum building has been a hot topic in the academic discussion, which not only decides the education’s quality but also influences the education’s development. Therefore, it is particularly important for teacher education which is charged with teachers training to build the curriculum. Learning from others may attack the jade. The United States, the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural developed country, has executed several reforms about teacher education to be the world top and become the learning focus of various countries. According to the strong history origin of the teacher education between China and the United States, the author chooses two countries’teacher education curriculum as this paper’s breakthrough point. After reviewing the history origin of two countries’teacher education, the characteristics of the curriculum have been better emerged. For the exposing problems of China’s teacher education and the actual situation in China, some precautionary suggestions have been put forward to promote the development and the quality of teacher education in our country.First of all, this article has expounded the history origin between the two countries’teacher education by the format of "historical background+course features". Meanwhile it has also summarized the different curriculum features at different stages between the two countries in order to stand in the height of the history to survey the contemporary teacher education curriculum. However, the contemporary teacher education curriculum between China and the United States has its own characteristics. Therefore, the author compares the curriculum following the sequence of "the idea of teacher education curriculum building, the program of teacher education curriculum building, the management of teacher education curriculum building". After the analysis, some problems of our country’s teacher education curriculum have been exposed, such as the limitation of curriculum’s idea, the discordance of curriculum’s structure, irregularity of curriculum’s management. And some representative universities between China and the United States have been chosen to be samples to do detailed comparison from the three module courses of teacher education courses which are general foundation course, discipline specialized courses, education professional courses. At last, the author finds a series of problems that our country general foundation courses’form and contents are rigid and narrow; the specialized courses have a tendency to the subject theory construction; education professional courses are declined to the theory rather than practice.All in all, for a series of problems and the reality of our country, the author puts forward three suggestions that are updating the curriculum idea, optimizing the curriculum structure, completing the curriculum management. Especially in the second suggestion, the author proposes three specific measures:adding general foundation courses, simplifying specialized courses, strengthening education professional courses in order to construct a reasonable curriculum structure of teacher education, promote the development of teacher education and elevate comprehensive quality of pre-occupational cultivation.
