Since2004, the new curriculum standard reform of high school has been implemented in all provinces, The new standard of physics in high school promotes scientific inquiry in which "exploratory experiment" plays an important part. It is an important way to improve the students’scientific exploring ability. The new curriculum standard specifically requests the ability of scientific exploring and experiment of physics in high school, but the evaluation system available on the ability of exploring reflected in the "exploratory experiment" is far from perfect. Therefore, the establishment of an evaluation system on the ability of exploring of the physics in high school is an important topic of current physics educational research in high school.Now, there are several evaluation methods on the ability of scientific exploring, among which the on-site observation is recognized as the most effective one. However, it has some disadvantages such as high cost, not suitable for large-scale use and not suitable for Chinese class with a large number of students. Moreover, the effectiveness of the traditional written tests is controversial in the science and education circle of our country, It is not a good evaluation for the ability of observation and experiment. Therefore, we need to adopt a commonly-used evaluation method in the international science and education circle---worksheet.Based on the thought above, this thesis is supposed to establish an evaluation system of the exploring ability of the physics experiment with the help of the worksheet and the elements of students’self-evaluation. And this can be achieved by the "basic elements of the analysis", the summery of the research which has been done as well as some interviews of the experts and scholars. In the evaluation system, the first level index includes five elements:the discovery and proposal of questions, conjecture and hypothesis, experimental design, observation and experiment, demonstration and evaluation, And the indexes which influence the five elements are named as the second-level indexes. Secondly, I will design a questionnaire which includes every ability index in order to investigate its importance in the index system. At the same time, I will analyze the reliability and validity of the results in order to prove the reliability and validity of the findings. Then the formation of the weighting system of the ability index of physics experiment exploration will be achieved by the confirmation of the weighting of each index with the help of the method of the analytic hierarchy process. At last, in order to examine the feasibility of the evaluation system and further analyze the evaluation results, I will test the physics experimental exploring ability of118students who are in senior one in a high school in Chongqing by the way of structural worksheet. The results shows that students got low score on the ability of "conjecture and hypothesis","experimental design" and "observation and experiment" and they are weak especially in the ability of "experimental design" and "observation and experiment".
