In recent years, with the change of economic development and personnel system, people are increasingly aware of the value of competence in human resource management. Competency-based human resource management, competency model is the basis of the management of human resources. It can promote the recruitment, selection, training, performance and remuneration of the work, then it can form the organization to develop useful human resources systems in order to enhance organizational competitiveness. Finance is the core of modern economy, and it dominates the modern economic development. If we want to vigorously develop the financial sector, and to transport high-quality talent, we must have a group of financial education teachers with reasonable structure, high overall quality, and adapted the modern development of finance. Therefore, it has important theoretical and practical significance to put the thought of human resource management in finance and establish the competency model of financial teachers. Though the survey of finance teachers, this study based on the competency establishes the model of financial teachers’competency, and it also examines the relationship between the college financial teachers and job performance.First, this paper does a preliminary analysis on the competency model of financial teachers with behavioral event interview, content analysis and so on, and then tests its reliability and validity. Second, this study uses the questionnaire, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis to do a specific dimension study on the financial professional teacher competency model and competency model, and does a relationship between competency model and performance. The article pointed out that the financial competence of teachers characteristics include the level of knowledge, financial skills, teaching ability, research ability, personal characteristics, six aspects of the ideology and morality, the six aspects and the teachers’performance are significantly positively correlated. After understanding of the relationship between the two. we propose a series of measures and methods on the financial management of teachers.This study made a tentative discussion of the college financial professional teachers based on competence theory. And the papers study the relationship between the competency and performance. The study has practical application value, but it also has some inadequacies. At the end of the paper, we also put forwards the prospect for future research.
