Martial arts with Chinese characteristics is a excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, is the5000bright civilization is the crystallization of wisdom of the Chinese nation; is an enriched the Chinese nation for thousands of years to fight the essence of sports. Wushu development in China has a long history and a broad mass base, in the thousands of years of heritage and development of continuous improvement and perfection, has created one after another brilliant. Martial arts originated in the production of human life process, however in science and technology is highly developed today that the nation’s own culture has been gradually ignored, more young people from the western athletic mainly to Olympic culture, outstanding book culture could not better inheritance and development.50years ago in1961, countries have the martial arts as an excellent national tradition sports items included in the syllabus. The Ministry of education, the Central Propaganda Department, in2004April put school physical education should be appropriate to increase the martial arts etc.. Martial arts in China have a good foundation and gradually showing a thriving situation, but at the same time, some problems also gradually shown. In the actual University Optional Course of martial arts teaching process was found, most students like martial arts this national project for martial arts the course not enthusiastic. Current portion of the optional course of martial arts in the teaching process has some problems, the students that is not very good mastery of martial arts, also cannot understand which contains fighting meaning, if can understand its culture more is the empty talk. This shows that the Wushu Teaching encountered a bottleneck, how to better solve this problem? The author of the Xi’an city of Wushu elective course in colleges to carry out a circumstance to undertake investigating, from10of500college students and30martial arts teacher as the research object by using the method of literature, questionnaire, expert interview and mathematical statistics and so on the Xi’an city college martial arts teaching investigation and analysis. Found from the survey of Wushu theory course partially missing or not enough attention, single teaching contents, alternative learning project is not much; martial arts teachers in the skills and theoretical level is uneven; martial arts venues and facilities for the relative lack of; teaching method relative to a single school teachers arouse the learning enthusiasm of students can not, and appraisal system is rational and other factors led to the students for examinations to learn martial arts, dismissed the students interest in learning martial arts. The students like sports, Wushu Course in football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, games, swimming, tae kwon do, listed in eighth; wherein the boys like practical martial arts, females tend to fitness, amusement wushu. To solve the problems of Wushu elective course, according to the author’s investigation first from the teaching content of. First, the current Wushu teaching content is relatively simple, the optional course of martial arts in the24type of Simplified Taijiquan, primary Changquan primary sword, mainly, to development of university martial arts enrich teaching contents be imperative; secondly the martial arts with offensive and defensive skills, to highlight the characteristics of martial arts to attract more students studying martial arts. At the same time according to the different needs of different students arrange different training content, it can satisfy the different needs of students also take care of students’individual differences. In view of the above problems the following solutions:(1) strengthen the importance of theory of martial arts teaching, so that students truly understand the meaning of action attack, and strengthen the military and martial arts teaching;(2) University Wushu teaching needs innovation, with the development of students’body and mind development also changes, the current Wushu teaching can no longer meet the needs of university students, so the materials need to cater to the trend of the times to give full consideration to the contemporary university body needs;(3) martial arts appraisal way, should be diversification should not only look at the routine for whether the criteria for consideration should also be given to the students on Wushu culture and art meaning of the master, only this is the real master of this routine;(4) enhances the martial arts venues, equipment investment, only a good martial arts venues and equipment to promote more students to learn martial arts, martial arts training;(5) strengthens the martial arts promotion, nowadays is an information era, the martial arts also should keep pace with the times to fully promote their only way to better development;(6) paying attention to the martial arts community development, promotes the student lifelong wushu.
