In recent years, with the improvement of living standard and cultural level of rural areas, the masses are in great need of high-quality preschool education while the running of preschool education in rural areas still can’t meet the expectation. So it is necessary to consider how to scientifically evaluate the quality of rural preschools’runningEvaluator plays a major role in assessing the quality of rual preschools’ riunning.At present,multi parties engaged in assessment has become a dominant evaluation model. The"Preschool Guardence Program (2001)by China’s Ministry of Education emphasizes that managers, teachers, children and parents are "participants" in evaluation and that these people are major evaluators. Lillian Katz, an American pre-school scholar,presents,in her book The Multi dimentional Perspectives of Preschool Education Quality, five perspectives to evaluate preschool education quality,which are top-down perspective, bottom-up perspective,perspective from the outside to inside, internal perspective and external perspective. The multi-dimensional perspectives of the quality evaluation of rural preschools’running is a process to evaluate the quality of rural preschool education from the above five perspectives,which is based on data collected from these five perspectives.In this study, a rual preschool, in Zhongshan,Guangdong,is taken as the sample to explore the quality evaluation machanism of rural preschools’running through multi-dimensional perspectives. literature review-. questionnaires-. interviews and other methods are employed to collect quality evaluation data of the preschool’s runnigng from the five perspectives.The quality evaluation data of the kindergarten’s running have been compared in terms of their consistency and inconsistency. A detaied analysis has been conducted in terms of evaluation purpose、method、content、effects and other aspects. Having explored the strengths and weaknesses of the five perspectives,the study points out the disadvantages of the only party in evaluating the quality of the rual preschool’s running.These disadvantages are as follows:a. It fails to give full play to initiative of other concerned parties.b.It cannot work effectively, c.The comprehensiveness and accuracy of the evaluation results can not be guaranteed.d The evaluation result is not pratical and productive in the long run.This study also shows the advantage of multidimentional evaluation of the quality of the rual preschool’s running.It is conducive to establishing cooperative and equal relationship among evaluation parties、to improving the the quality of evaluation results, and it is also practical and useful.Last but not least,the study puts forward the following suggestions:that it give full play to the role of the concerned parties in evaluation、that the evaluation shoud be done for the purpose of quality diagnosis and improvement that evaluation result should be practical and productive、that evaluation process should be one conducive to development and monitoring of the rual preschool’s management and that the evaluation avoid being superficial, formal and inefficient.
