With the further development of the new curriculum reform, much more attention has been focused on the topic of class participation in recent decades. Professor Zheng Jinzhou from East China Normal University used to say,"We shall understand education only if we got to know class; we shall truly implement the new curriculum only if we changed the class" when he wrote the prelude for "Series of Recommended Books for Teachers about New Curriculum". It is absolute that on the background of the new curriculum reform, people put their eyes on classes in order to turn the new curriculum theories into the specific class practice. However, lots of defects came up when we attended the real junior or elementary classes. Some problems turned out to be the stumbling block to the students who wants to effectively master knowledge and obtain high scores, such as lacking of passion, low participation rate, superficial participation methods. How to lead the students defeat the obstacles becomes one of the hot issues on education research.It is no doubt that people already explored and gained some victories in this preliminary stage for the discussion of class participation. They began to realize what an important role that class participation plays in the education field. They also seek for the reasons why lack of passion, low participation rate, superficial participation methods occurred from a wild range view of society, school and family. Some of them created a methodology which suggests enhancing the students’class participation from the teachers’and students’role. The author thinks the current research consists of the following defects:the new curriculum reform emphasize the efficiency of classes while some scholars mistreated them as efficiency of educating, and twisted this "educating" as "teaching". It resulted in misleading the direction to the side of how to teach as a teacher in the elementary education. Little instruction was given to the question of how to learn as a student when someone mentioned, or it was just ignored after some repetition of its significance. Most of the researches only concentrate on the teachers’part but turn a deaf ear to the students’part. Allow some of the voices to support the subjectivity of students, but cannot help setting up the teachers to be the subject. This essay will dig into the two parts from an objective view, especially on how a student can act and how to participate in the classes.As the subject of learning, the owner of class, the protection of the class efficiency, the student is the key to form a high effective class if they improve the participation consciousness, actively cooperate with their teachers. On the other hand, the student is also a special research object with the subjective initiative; therefore, the author will search for the students’class participation from a multi-angle and all-round view during the whole procedure.
