In recent years, graduates’ employment becomes a controversial issue andarouses an increasing social concern among all fields. The constructive conflicts suchas harsh employment of graduates and difficult recruitment faced by employers arevery obvious. It seems like that the supply of graduates has exceeded the demand inthe market; but actually there is a gap between the qualities of graduates and marketdemand. How to solve the gap between the two sides and help them get a better jobbecome a problem ahead of researchers. Introducing the concept of employmentability into research provides a new way to solve the constructive conflicts.Employment ability is the ability for individuals to obtain job for the first time,keep employed and get a new job when necessary. The research originated in Europeand America at the beginning of the20th century. It reached a prosperous periodamong the field of human resource in1990s. In China, the related researches beganrather late, on which the first paper was published in2004. After that,the numbers ofpapers increased year by year, which showed that researches of employment becamepopular.Based on the analysis of related materials and documents, as well as themethods of interview and questionnaire, this paper constructs the framework offactors which are influencing the employment ability of graduates. This paper dividesthe factors into seven types including basic individual qualities, moral qualities,qualities on literacy and science, competence, professional qualities, work experiences,and other social factors, figures out the important factors influencing the employmentability and establishes corresponding regression framework through the analysis ofsoftware SPSS17.0.Analysis shows that among the basic individual qualities, major, educationalbackground and personality influent the employment ability; among the moralqualities work-study and nonprofit support services influent the employment ability;among qualities on literacy and science, the levels of English and computer,scholarships and certificates influent the employment ability; among professionalqualities participating in employment training and career planning activities canimprove the employment ability of graduates; work experiences have relatively big influence on employment ability in which one week and one month influent more;among other social factors, type of school, parents’ educational background and theirchannels accessing to work have an impact on the employment ability.On the basis of analyzing results, this paper proposes that schools should focuson the education of specialized courses as well as the career planning andemployment training, organize activities for students to participate in, and studentsshould develop their own career planning, to improve their employment ability stepby step. The employer should offer feedbacks of the employment situation to theschools, and participate in the personnel training held by schools.
