The president is an important force in the course of curriculum implementation. Hisleading directly affects the effect of implementation.In recent years, with theimplementation of new curriculum, The Curriculum Leadership of principal is graduallypaid more attention by the academic world attention. Gansu Province fully implementedthe new high school curriculum from the fall of2010.It is another important measure ofwhich the following implementation of compulsory education after the new curriculum topromote better and faster development of basic education in our province. As a curriculumleader, the principal of high school takes the important responsibilities to promote the newhigh school curriculum. The curriculum leadership of principal is the fundamentalguarantee to the smooth implementation of the new curriculum of high school in ourprovince.The new curriculum reform is a major project. Each school, Each principal, Eachteacher as well as each student and Each parents will be faced the great changes with theeducation ideas and perspectives and teaching methods in this new curriculum reform. Toachieve these changes, the curriculum leadership of principal is needed. The newcurriculum reform presented a huge challenge to the curriculum leadership of principal. Ina sense, the success or failure of the new curriculum reform depends on the principal’scurriculum leadership.This study focused on the high school principal’s curriculum leadership. The ordinaryhigh school is the main battlefield. The study applied the qualitative research method,analysis of integrated application document, observational method, interviewing method,questionnaire method and so on. The study took Gansu Province as a case of two highschools in order to learn about the real situation of the curriculum implementation processin the school curriculum. The new curriculum reform has also the actual impact on schools,teachers and students. The study provided a theoretical basis for the high school principalsand curriculum leadership. It’s deeper and more comprehensive understanding of GansuProvincial Division change and the status of implementation so that we can find theproblems and difficulties and present the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. Ihope that the study provides curriculum leadership theory and practice guidance for thehigh school principals so as to promote the smooth implementation of the new curriculumin Gansu Province. This paper consists of seven parts:The first part is introduction. It gives a summary description and the origin purposeand theoretical and practical significance of the study. It also includes the new high schoolcurriculum reform profiles and defines the concept of leadership, curriculum leadership andprincipal’s curriculum leadership.The second part describes the overview of the new highschool curriculum reform.Then it presents the era of the study abroad context and theanalysis and synthesis of relevant studies to clarify the existing research on the study ofrevelation. The third part is the theoretical basis of this study, including the principal basisfor curriculum leadership philosophy, psychology, leadership and sociological basis. Thefourth part is the study design. It firmly grasps the center of the principal’s curriculumleadership and select two high schools in Gansu Province as a case. It applies theobservational method, interviewing method and questionnaire method to do systematic andcomprehensive study. In researching process, I pay attention to the research ethics. Thefifth part does a profound analysis of high school curriculum implementation status of theprincipal of curriculum leadership and it shows the influence factors and the problems anddifficulties. Based on what have been mentioned above, the sixth part proposed somerelative policies and proposals. The seventh part is the epilogue. I hope that all parties canwork together in the new high school curriculum reform so as to promote the smoothimplementation of the new curriculum reform. And I am looking forward to thedevelopment of new high school curriculum reform.
