The Senior High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards has pointed out in2003that teachers should help students to have “independent, cooperative andresearch-oriented study” at the right time in order to develop students’ learning ability,sense of cooperation and good study habits. As a way of teaching, group cooperativelearning is very important in the new mathematics curriculum reform. It can not onlymake students realize that they play the main role in the class, but also improvestudents’ ability to find out problems, to analyze problems and to solve problems. It isreasonable and necessary to carry out the group cooperative learning in high schoolmathematics teaching in the new situation of education. Therefore, the theory andpractice of group cooperative learning in high school mathematics teaching is worthy offurther study.Questionnaire method is used in this study. Research is based on the teachers’ andstudents’ understanding of the concept of cooperative learning teaching mode inChongqing Banan Middle School. The results show that the practice of groupcooperative learning in the mathematics teaching is not so good. From concept topractice, there are some problems in the teaching, and there are some deviations instudents’ understanding of cooperative learning.This thesis provides an overview of related issues at home and abroad,and has areflection on the mathematical theory of cooperative learning foundation. It analyzes thebasic elements and characteristics of group cooperative learning, from the perspectiveof high school math curriculum standards and textbook content design, investigating theimplementation of cooperative learning in mathematics. On the basis of the research,through personal teaching practice, I built up the Chongqing Banan high school mathcooperative learning groups. Through case study, I carefully designed some typicalcases named as “The Probability of Random Events”,“the Odevity of Function”,“theMonotonicity of Function” and so on. At last, this thesis analyzes the influence thatmathematical group cooperative learning on teachers and students. The purpose of thisstudy is to provide some theoretical and practical reference about “how to carry out group cooperative learning”as a high school math teacher.
