The Utilization And Exploitation Of Sts Chemistry Curriculum Resources In High School

The education of STS has been attracted more and more attention in area of scienceinstruction. The reform of Elementary Education, which started from2001in China, putforward new concept of curriculum. One of the most important points is to advocate thatthe teachers should explore the resource of curriculum. As for chemistry, which is animportant content in education, the purpose of which is to improve the students’ scienceaccomplishment and advocate exploring the curriculum resource of STS. So the thesis choosethe chemistry teaching in junior high school as the experiment area to explore the resource ofSTS.The questionnaire about the exploration of chemistry curriculum resource of STS isadapted according to the new curriculum reform at present. The thesis surveyed100teachersin Hebei province. And I analysis the results with statistical method. Thethesis draw the following conclusion.(1) the teachers are active to explore curriculumresource of STS.(2) The fact is that spirit is willing but the flesh is weak for the teachers.(3)There are different factors for exploitation of STS.The experiment period is one year on the basis of questionnaires. The resource of STSwas explored at the next aspects.(1) The teachers Pay more attention to the forward positionand make a social investigation carefully.(2) The teachers survey of students’ daily life tounderstand the students’ prior experience and knowledge.(3) The teachers collect STScurriculum resource by internet, books, newspapers, TV, daily life so as to createa databank for management of curriculum resource. The result of experiment shows that thestudents’ science view can be improved with STS curriculum resource, which can help thestudents form right values and world view so as to develop the students’ quality.
