With the rapid development of information technology, new media has been widely used. Nowadays, internet, mobile phones and other new media have been highly popular among college students. New media used for ideological and political education of college students has brought not only vast development opportunities, but also grim challenges. In the new situation, strengthening the study of the influence of new media on the ideological and political education of college students, actively exploring Countermeasures of the use of new media in Ideological and political education to College students have become new and arduous tasks.Based on the study of new media and full summary of existing theories, the paper adopts the method of questionnaire, observation interviews, document analysis, analyzing both from macroscopic and microcosmic dimensions.The introduction mainly expounds the background and significance of the research. It also introduces research ideas and methods, as well as the review of current academic research.The text includes four parts:The first part mainly explains the new media’s connotation, types and features; then introduces the survey scheme as well as the sample selection, and analyzes current situations of college students using new media. Generally speaking, almost all college students have used new media, but they still do not know much about it; new media even has become their important channel to communication, information and entertainment; compared with traditional media, new media is easier to be accepted, but it less reliable than it; colleague students spend too much time surfing the internet, but the expense spent on the new media is relatively reasonable. At the same time, it also explains the positive and negative effects of the new media on College Students’ thought, study and lives.The second part discusses and explains the new media effects on College Ideological and political education from two aspects:opportunities and challenges. The first is the opportunity, new media’s openness and pluralism is beneficial to broaden students’ Ideological and political education platform; its flexibility and interactivity helps improve students’ Ideological and political education work manners; virtuality and equality is conducive to enhance the effectiveness of Ideological and political education. The second is a challenge, new media’s openness and diversity have effects on College Students’ value concept; virtuality and interaction influences College Students’ mental health; generalization and sharing affects University Ideological and political education authority.The third part analyzes the use of new media to college students’ Ideological and political education. It points out both achievements and deficiencies of new media’s use in Ideological Political Education of university students. For example, the educator and educatee’s subject-object position still exists, so it results in a lack of equal talking between them; ideological and political education content and form lack novelty, so language lacks student’s "life world"; colleges do not pay enough attention to it, so new media literacy education in Colleges and universities is insufficient; unbalanced development still exists among different colleges, some of them even lack new media network platform technology, funds and professional personnel; ideological and political education in the new media management mechanism is not perfect and so on.The fourth part is based on comprehensive research results and reason analysis from above. Then it objectively puts forward some thoughts and countermeasures to enhance the use of new media on College Students’ Ideological and political education training. It mainly includes:setting up ideas of using new media technology for college students’ Ideological and political education; making efforts to improve media literacy among college students and educators of Ideological and political education; promoting interaction between new media and traditional ones in education; and perfecting the construction of Ideological and political education of college students in new media management system.At the same time, this paper using SPSS statistical software to do comparative analysis among students of different levels and relationship of the college students’ Ideological and political education in the new media environment. It also makes factor analysis between the impact of new media environment to college students’ Ideological and political education. It bases on the modern new media’s communication theory, inter-subjectivity theory and modern democratic education theory. It is aimed at exploring systematic countermeasures to strengthen college students ideological and Political Education under new media environment, providing some theoretical support and reference path for colleges and universities.
