The Research Of Eliminating College Student Association’s " Administrative" Feature

The college student association is come into existence based on the collectiveinterest and hobby or corporate ideal of college student. College students take part instudent association of their own accord. In the context of the further strengthen andimprovement of Ideological and Political Education work for college studentcountrywide, the college student association is playing an unprecedented important part.However, college student association has gradually come into being “administrate” bythe impact, constraint and control of executive power and administrative managementsystem for a long time. The research on college student association and its“administrative” feature is of great theoretical value and practical significance to furtherstrengthen and improvement of college student association construction and give fullplay to its positive role.This study focuses on college student association from the perspective ofadministrative management system (including higher education administrative system),takes several universities and colleges in Dushu Lake higher education district ofSuzhou for example, and adopts the methods of questionnaire and interview toinvestigate the conditions of college students’ participation and administration in studentassociation, and the phenomenon of “administration”. Findings of the research are asfollows: At present, influenced by student association’s “administrative” feature,“official-oriented” tendency of college student association cadres turns the associationinto an experimental field of students’“power experience”. What’s more, theestablishment and development, activity management, system management, financial management and personnel management of college student association are allconstrained and controlled by executive power and administrative management system.“Administrative” feature of college student association, not only hinders the growth andsuccess of college students, but also seriously weakens the autonomy of associationactivities, and affects healthy development of college student association. Therefore, toeliminate “administrative” feature in college student association we should pay attentionto these four factors: Firstly, to strengthen modern, democratic and legal education,eliminating the remaining “official-oriented” concept; Secondly, to reform governmenteducation management system, promoting the university “de-administration” process;Thirdly, to perfect internal management mechanism of college student association byexploring actively; Fourthly, to lead college student association’s healthy developmentby scientific guide.
