In order to strengthen basic education, improve the quality of the Chinese nation, and modern education to meet the requirements of the new era, full training the creativity of students, improve students’ practical abilities and the overall quality,the Party and state officially launched a new round of basic education curriculum reform, in2001, enacted the "Basic Education Curriculum reform Program (Trial)"(2001), fully and vigorously promote the new base a basic education curriculum reform.The new curriculum reforms on teachers a new and higher requirement. Therefore, with the further implementation of the new curriculum reform, it is also a greater emphasis on teachers to improve their own quality and development, the role of teachers has been developed by traditional educator image into a set of knowledge, ability, education and scientific researcher, ethical culture learning evaluation, and administrative role in a specialized talent. Teachers gradually embarked on a specialization, diversification, and three-dimensional path of development. This means that the full implementation of the new curriculum reform, teachers should comprehensively improve their professionalism and embarked on the road of professionalism of the teacher development.Due to own characteristics of geography, as well as the requirements of the new curriculum for students to develop professionalism, geography teachers have should be more comprehensive. This paper attempts to combine the author’s education work experience, through the analysis of the new curriculum ideas, explore the composition of the professionalism of teachers in the new context of curriculum. I proceed from the high school geography teacher’s teaching situation, combined with education, psychology, geography, pedagogy, management and other multi-disciplinary theoretical knowledge as a guide, the integrated use of literature, case law, the practice of law, summary, data analysis other methods, the geography teacher should have the professionalism structure provided for reference and the efforts of the paradigm for the majority of geography teachers to explicitly teach the new curriculum requirements for geography teachers. The geography teacher professionalism, including knowledge of literacy, the ability of literacy, the four aspects of the psychological qualities and professional ethics, this article combined with educational theory and teaching practice requirements of the new curriculum studies in each literacy structure of geography teachers.
