With the rapid development of science and technology, the essence of competitiveness in the different country is centered on developing education and cultivating talent personnel, which is closely related to the role of teacher. Moreover, the new curriculum reform that is aimed at helping students'development is promoted greatly in different areas of our country presently, which poses a higher demand for the quality of each teacher. But so far as the practical teaching situation concerned, there are a lot of problems in the geography teaching of our country, such as the lower level of geographical teaching in some middle schools, and the quality of teacher staff can't be guaranteed at a excellent level, in order to improve geographical teachers'quality to pave the way for the development of students and cultivation of high-quality talent personnel, the author try to conduct an exploring research into the present condition of geography teachers' personnel quality in the perspective of the new curriculum reform, which is based on the combination with practical situation, thus finding a way to propel the common progress effectively.The essential definition of teacher's geographical quality is advanced in this paper, by reading a large number of researching and exploring reference materials relating to the teacher's quality and geographical professional ability. Furthermore, the problems in the teacher's geographical quality are tracked down, and the approach to solve this kind of problem is put forward through the combination with the practical situation of the new curriculum reform and the analysis of the present condition of teacher's geographical quality in the paper.The method of research include reference materials retrieving, questionnaire and personnel interview in the paper.This paper includes six parts:The first part is introduction. The reason for conducting this research, the research purpose and present condition is introduced in a brief way.The second part is relevant to the investigation and analysis of teachers" geography quality in the senior middle school according to the requirement of new curriculum reform. the author give a analysis of present condition of teachers" geographical professional, human and technological quality in the senior middle school, which is based on the strict and thorough questionnaire and interview into geography teachers in some parts of senior middle school of Jining city, thus finding the problems reflected by the geography teacher in the senior middle school. The third part conducts an introduction of theoretical research into the teachers' geographical quality in the middle school, in which introduce quality, teacher' quality, geography quality, the new curriculum reform quality and requirement for teachers.The fourth part is the strategy of improving the geographical quality in the middle school. The geography teachers should enhance self-improvement in the basis of continuous study and reflection, what's more, the environment being contributory to improving teacher's geography quality should be paid attention to, just in order to promote the improvement of geography teacher's comprehensive quality in the senior middle school.The fifth part is conclusion and prospect. The eventual research conclusions are drawn in this part, and some prospects and suggestions concerning the development of geographical teachers'quality in the senior middle school are put forward.The fifth part is conclusion and prospect.
