Compulsory education plays a fundamental and guiding role in the whole education system. In the context of urban-rural integration, how to improve the quality of rural compulsory education, and narrow the gap between rural and urban and finally achieve common development, which is the important issues that rural compulsory education need to solve.This study first conducted a literature review, then using empirical research methods, such as interview, questionnaire survey, analyzed the present situation of rural compulsory education quality under the background of urban-rural integration, finally puts forward policy recommendations to improve the quality of rural compulsory education. The paper makes an empirical analysis from three aspects:the education resources investment, education teaching process and education teaching results. The analysis shows that the rural compulsory education quality has made significant progress, but at the same time, there are also many problems that didn’t resolve yet. Finally, this paper puts forward policy suggestions from five aspects:establishing education investment system under the background of urban-rural integration, strengthening urban-rural interaction of teachers and students and improving teachers’ professional competence, strengthening connotative development of rural schools, paying attention to the overall development of rural students, accelerating the promotion of urban and rural development on the economic front and social security.
