And a direct positive relationship exists between the perceived socio-cultural benefits of tourism and locial residents’support, while a direct negative relationship exists between the perceived socio-cultural costs of tourism and locial residents’support. Second, residents’needs and motives to take part in social exchange with tourists are that they want to expand opening and communication to outside, improve social relations, protect traditional culture and raise their standards of life. Factors of gender, education level, distance and household income are significant relationed with residents’ perceived impacts. On the basis of literature review, on-the-spot investigation, field survey, data analysis, and in depth interviews, this paper proposed suggestions in order to improve residents’ attitude towards coastal tourism.
