21century is the era of information. Along with the development of information and network technology, the level of informationization has become an important symbol measuring the comprehensive strength of a country or a region. The educational informationization, as an important part of the informationization, is taken seriously by governments.In our country, the party and the government has always attached great importance to the informatization of China educational reform and developments. To promote it, a series of policies and measures has been issued, in which School-to-school Network Project is one of the most representative one.On October25,2000, the ministry of education held the conference on information technology education in primary and secondary schools in Beijing, which issued the notice on the implementation of the School-to-school Network Project in primary and secondary schools. It was decided to popularize the information and technology education in primary and secondary schools in five to ten years since2001, to fully implement School-to-school Network Project, to develop the educational modernization by means of the informationization, and to make efforts to achieve rapid development of basic education.By means of the field investigation and interviews to primary and secondary schools in X County, the current study looked into the implementation of School-to-school Network Project in X County, the achievement, the existing problems and their causes. Suggestions are put forward based on the study. The author hopes this paper can promote the further implementation of School-to-school Network Project, and help to speed up the educational informationization process.The paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the origin of the subject, the literature review, the concept definition, and the research methods. The second chapter sketches the social economy and education in X County. The third chapter is on the current situation of School-to-school Network Project in X County, including implementation basis, plan, and effect. By means of questionnaire and interviews, the fourth chapter sums up problems existing in the School-to-school Network Project and analyses the causes. The fifth chapter puts forward some thinking and suggestions to strengthen School-to-school Network Project.
