Study Of Postgraduate Education Structure In Shandong Province

Postgraduate education in Shandong Province has achieved considerable developmentand remarkable achievements since it recovered admissions in1978. But the developmentlevel of postgraduate education is still lagging behind when compared to the economicstatus of Shandong province in China. In recent years, the scale of postgraduate educationis soaring in Shandong Province,by contrast, the structure of postgraduate education didnot make appropriate and substantive adjustments.Therefore, the issue of incommensuratebetween postgraduate education structure and the development of economics is growingmore obviously, and which also obstruct the improvement of the quality and efficiency ofthe postgraduate education in Shandong Province.In this paper, I define the structure of postgraduate education in Shandong province asmy study objection, and apply the documentary studying, statistical analysis andcomparative studying as my study methods. With the aim of providing strong intelligencesupport to the construction of Shandong province and promoting economic and socialdevelopment of Shandong province,this study will discuss the current situation and thedevelopment strategies of postgraduate education structure in Shandong and try toinvestigate the benign development of postgraduate education of Shandong.In this study,the data about hierarchical structure, disciplinary structure, type structureand regional structure of postgraduate education in shandong,are selected from the dataabout situation of shandong postgraduate education of recent years, which are processedinto diagrams and tables. Then compare with the relevant data of other provinces,the wholecountry and some developed countries. The characteristics of graduate education’sstructure in Shandong Province is summarized upon the qualitative research based onquantitative research of the data above. Finally, countermeasures for improving graduateeducation structure in Shandong Province are proposed according to industrial andeconomic development plan from "12th Five-Year Plan for economic and socialdevelopment in Shandong Province" and "Blue Shandong Peninsula Economic ZoneDevelopment Plan"...
