With the launching of quality education in China, Society, families pay more attention onthe development of overall quality of the students, especially in mental health, practiceinnovation and social adaptation. And when facing employment pressure and social pressure,many college graduates are lack of confidence, there to escape dependence, low self-esteemand other state of mind, and thus they have a strong sense of helplessness with their future.This sense of helplessness seriously affects their entrepreneurship and employment initiative,but also a serious impact on their learning and growing consciousness in school, all these leadto a result that their knowledge and ability could not increase, they feel more confused andhelpless about future, which result in a vicious circle. Therefore, we should pay moreattention to cultivate and enhance the self-confidence of college students; encourage them tograsp their own future more forwardly and to stimulate their own development potential, toimprove all aspects of their skills and qualities. At the same time, to promote the students’innovation, adaptability and the ability to increase resistance to frustration. Throughparticipation in extended sports to improve students’ self-confidence level is a good means.Outward Bound is currently the sport developing rapidly in China, although the basic form isphysical activities, but the aim is not to improve the physical skills, nor to develop outdoorskills, but in order to maximize participants’ self-excavation potential as the fundamentalpurpose. Therefore, Outward Bound brings us bran-new educational philosophy, thisphilosophy of education is no longer just be concerned about the education process to teachknowledge and technology, but more attention to the educated in the process of personalitygrowth and mental energy increases, thereby maximize the mobilization of all potentialindividuals to promote the maximum personal development. However, colleges anduniversities set the course used to increase the overall quality of students, but they are still inthe early stages. In order to meet the needs of social development, colleges should timely setup sports expanded education programs to promote the healthy personality of students.In this paper, we take the students major in Physical Education from Hebei Institute ofPhysical Education and students who take part in Outward Bound courses as object of study,methods of documentation, observation, investigation, probability, comparison and Logic Analysis were employed. By analyzing the changes of self-confidence of the students beforeand after the courses, we draw relevant conclusions. While the innovation of this study is topropose a new concept of education, develop the personal education through the ways ofPhysical Education, promoting overall growth and development of students. Expandededucation emphasizes Experiential Leatning, has developed into a new learning method andtraining method. Outward Bound, is a perception of life, a difficult experience. Expandededucation gives you an understanding of yourselves; explore your own opportunity for yourclear understanding of how to better meet the future social development. Expanded educationis also a self-improving process.The paper comes to the conclusions by careful investigation and scientific calculation asfollowing:(1) The introduction of sports extended education in colleges and universities hasencouraged the integrated development of students, particularly in the self-confidence.Through the psychological self-confidence scale before and after the measurement results, wecan see the physical education students’ self-confidence has improved significantly.(2) Sportsextended educational programs has significant differences on different genders and educationbackgrounds: by testing the system after the physical education curriculum development toimprove self-confidence, the level of girls are much higher than the level of boys; theundergraduate students higher than junior college students.(3) Sports extended educationalreflects the concept of "people first" modern teaching ideas, it has some value for the growthof university students, by the author’s investigation on all physical education majors, they areall willing to participate in the program, it is very good for the university to set up educationprograms to expand the prospects. At the same time, they gave the following suggestions:(1)Enrich contents of sports extended education, combine with the university’s own hardwareand software conditions and physical education students of their own physical andpsychological characteristics, designed to meet the overall development of students of theproject content, we can also refer to the company’s expansion of training courses related, sothat students can actively participate in training, a bold attempt, self-reliance and mutualassistance, sharing of experience.(2) Establish a sound evaluation system on students’self-confidence level. Modern society is highly competitive society, having a goodpsychological quality lay a certain foundation for success. If you create a comprehensive evaluation system for students’ self-confidence, to master the college students’ standards andstatus of self-confidence, it will be beneficial for the students’ entering the society (3)Enhance physical education teachers, expansion and investment in the sport to betterhardware and software development. Physical education teachers should not only have theteaching ability, but also should have the ability to design and implement programs, doeverything by themselves. Expand training in China has a late start, and sports developmenteducation is a new concept proposed by the author, it needs to be developed more perfect.Teachers Engaged in the sport expanded education should go through a teacher training, inorder to master the relevant theoretical knowledge and practical operational capability.Schools should also give some support on hardware and software, such as space, equipmentand so on.
