Content:According to the characteristics of high school students and the actual situation of teaching, this paper aims to analyze the teaching methods in chemistry classes. With the developments of curricula reform and the implementation process of the New Curriculum Standard, further requirements are needed in bringing out the students’ subjectivity, the New Curriculum Standard pays more attention to the learning process and methods of students; cooperative, inquiry and autonomous learning methods are becoming the main approaches in studying, and it is discussion learning method that makes students join into the class initiatively, it is also a good way to enhance the study interests of students.This research analyses the formation of comprehensive high school and the situation of students, it illustrates the necessity and urgency of discussion method in chemistry classes. According to Piaget’s Constructivism, based on Vygotsky’s Theory of Cognitive Development and Scaffolding Teaching, this paper makes the classification research on classroom instruction. Moreover, in terms of the demands of chemistry teaching in new curriculum standard and the practical requirements of students, it advances the discussion teaching method. Three-year studies of comprehensive high school have proved the feasibility and effectiveness of this teaching method.Discussion teaching method, which works strictly under the new curriculum standard, is suitable for high school students. The method lowers the students’ difficulties in learning, heightens their interests of chemistry studying, and mobilizes the initiative participating and active cooperation of students. By discussing, which takes student as the main body, can develop students’ abilities of active learning to obtain knowledge. During researching, I adopted experiment study and educational survey procedure in order to win better teaching quality for high school students, I am trying to change the influence to teachers and students of original teaching models, and I’m fully aware of the function of discussion teaching method. By researching, this kind of teaching mode can get students’ learning styles changed, solve points of confusion and increase their enthusiasm for learning; In addition, it can develop students’ learning abilities and take them really as the main body to solve the problems appearing in the chemistry learning. By strengthening the study and practice of discussion teaching method, I grasp the implementation, operational skills and experience of it, to ensure the effect of discussion teaching method.
