College students are the future of the country and the hope of the people. It is now an important and urgent task to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of college students. To achieve this goal, comparative studies of situations in other countries and employment of their experience have become of particular importance. Like China, Cuba is a socialist country, and it shares much commonness with China in terms of ideological and political education of college students. However, there are differences between the two countries. As the saying goes,"A stone from afar may help to cut the jade at hand", a comparison and contrast of ideological and political education of college students in China and Cuba will enable us to broaden our horizon and enrich our thought patterns, will help to improve such education in a scientific way, and will realize the effectiveness of ideological and political education.Under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of Three Represents, and The Scientific Concept of Development, this thesis studies and explores the ideological and political education of college students in China and Cuba, through the application of related theories and principles. The thesis consists of four parts. Part I mainly introduces the reasons of topic selection, significance of study, and present situation of studies by both domestic and foreign scholars. Part II collects and clarifies the basic terms and concepts the ideological and political education of college students in China and Cuba.
