In modern language education, most of the parents, the schools are not concerned about the spirit development of the students, and how to cultivate the reading ability, interest in learning ability, but about the enrollment rate, so to some extent, language education is called "score education and the language education has become to the training of listening, speaking, reading and writing ability. During this kind of learning, the thinking and the needs of students are neglected. All these do a lot harm on the growth of the them. Nowadays, the teachers are eager to improve essay writing skills of primary school students, but can not find the effective method.This paper collect a lot of the original data and information through surveys and interviews to dosystematic and specialized research on reading ability, writing skills of primary school students. There exist many problems on students’ reading and writing: firstly, the lack of reading training, including the alienation of language education, the destruction of alienation and utilitarian reading; Secondly, the exam-orientedcomposition teaching; Thirdly, too much emphasis on writing skills to ignore the true feelings.Through the analysis of the reasons for reading skills, writing skills, it is very important and urgent to improve students’ reading and writing ability. Here are the corresponding countermeasures:advocating reading picture books; advocating the poetry reading; advocating the extracurricular books reading; improving the class book lending system actively; enable students to observe the daily life for writing materials; enrich essay evaluation to wake up students’ awareness of the reader.
