Teaching in school should be in line with social development. With the advent of global information and knowledge economics era, it is more and more important to cultivate student's learning ability. Reading is one of important elements in human social life, an important means of getting knowledge and perceiving the world, a fundamental way of studying, however mathematic reading, as a basic learning method and key step of teaching, is poorly taken into consideration.The mathematic reading is not just reading books, but has two kinds of meanings: the first, it is an important means of studying mathematic knowledge as it is an extension of extracurricular activities; the second, the process of mathematic reading itself is an ability to gain and manage mathematic information. Because mathematic language has high abstract, accurate, logically precise properties, mathematic material contains a good number of mathematic ideas, it is imperial that mathematic reading method be ordering, non-leaking and repeating.The survey shows that mathematic reading status of students in junior high school is unsatisfactory, there are lots of students with reading difficulties. Being reluctant and passive in studying, less initiative in studying, all affect the teaching effect and student's mathematic cognitive level. The main causes of mathematics reading disability are mathematic materials, reading motivation, self mathematic cognitive structure, understanding ability in mathematic language, self-control ability, the module of mathematic teaching method. So it is necessary to develop effective training for these kinds of students, that is, changing attitude, inspiring reading motives; instruct students grasp scientific reading methods, enhancing comprehension of mathematics language, assisting students identify reading purpose and promote reading thinking in a question-oriented form; cultivating a good habit of the reading, boost up their self-controlled ability; optimizing students' cognitive structure by extending reading content were all carried out.The teaching practice on treated class for more than one year shows that the students' reading ability and academic achievement has been promoted after their learning motives was inspired, some mathematics reading strategy was grasped and self-control ability was acquired.Training students in mathematics reading ability is a systematic engineering, it demands educators have a set of plan, steps and methods, and follows the principles of human developmental psychology.
