| Information literacy has become an essential quality of a modern citizenry as the Information Age has arrived. The new curriculum reforms emphasize the development of the essential qualities of a modern citizenry to prepare students for lifelong learning. As the core content of the geographic information literacy, geographic information processing capacity is the focus of geography education researchers, as well as geography teachers. In this paper, there are a series of studies focus on the development of the Students’ geographic information processing capacity. The two main parts is how to assess high school students of geographic information processing capacity and how to train high school students of geographic information processing capacity.This article consists of the following aspects:The first part contains a series of elaboration about the background for this study, research content, research significance, research methods and research innovation.The second part is the part of the literature review, the related concepts of geographic information processing capacity and research were reviewed to provide a theoretical basis for follow-up study.The third part studies the evaluation criteria of geographic information processing capacity. In this part,we study the geography curriculum standards in and out of the country. Survey has developed a set of evaluation criteria for geographic information processing capacity, providing a reference for the survey of Students’ geographic information processing capacity and the development of training strategies for Students’ geography information processing capacity.The fourth part consists an empirical investigation and analysis of the development of high school students\geographic information processing capacity. And then, we analyzed the problems about the development of students’geography information processing capacity according to the survey.In the fifth part, we put forward some development strategies about student/s information processing ability according to the problems about the development of students’information processing ability and the practice of geography teaching.This article formulates the evaluation system for the development of high school students’geographic information processing capacity by correlational research, so as to provide a reference for teachers to understand and improve the students’geography information capacity, which helps teachers to develop better teaching strategies for the development of the students’ geographic information processing capacity. |
