The Application Of The Case Method In High School History Elective Teaching

The case teaching method is a method by leading typical cases into teaching process andintroducing students’ relative analysis, thus acquiring relative knowledge and apply it topractice futher. The method has been applied in daily teaching of related majors in collegesand universities all around the world. Recently,the case teaching method has been led intosecondary teaching in China,especially politics and physics, etc,few in the middle schoolHistory teaching. The thesis focuses on the analysis of the feature of case teachingmethod,and the investigation of the current teaching situation of middle school selectiveHistory course and the students’ degree of satisfaction and cognition of current Historyteaching and case teaching method, considering the current situation of selective Historycourse in middle school after curriculum revolution and the textbook compilation, As to theexclusive teaching model and characteristic of the method,we thought that the case teachingmethod will train the students’ thingking ability, widen their horizon and improve their abilityof knowledge application and analysis history phenomenon.The thesis take an perspective of the《The First Emperor of Qin who unified China》--high school elective history (4): class1of unit1, on the base of text content and teachingobjectives, we give some salutary cases of elective history (4) and the exactly casesimplementiong procedure during teaching process. We discussed the problem of the principleof case selection, some details needing attention and the means of launching caseteaching,Meanwhile the mistakes during teaching and the limitation of case teaching.Throughrelative analysis and reflection, we thought that the case teaching method is so practical that itcan be applied to the effective teaching,especially in high school elective history,and it willpromote efficiency both of teacher and students.
