The request to the new curriculum standard of the full-time ordinary high schoolbiology, the teacher would face all the students in the teaching process that emphasis oncultivating students’ biological science literacy, and promote the student to carry on theinquiry-based learning. Case teaching method is the expression of the new curriculumstandard. This method can improve the students’ interest in learning, pay attention tocultivate students’ autonomous learning, cooperative learning, and the ability tointegrating theory with practice. The students’ ability of communication and expressioncan be exercised, and it helpful for students to improve their own quality. This is exactlythe case teaching method can be achieved.The thesis summarizes the implication, characteristics and research status of thecase teaching method. The author does this research through the module of “ModernBio-technology Subject” as case-based teaching, and it point out many issues that mayexist on case-based teaching, thus research the feasibility of case-based teaching in theelective courses with high school biology. The thesis takes a lesson--“Fundamental byecological engineering” for example, talk about the principle and key link of case-basedteaching.At the same time, the author does the case-based teaching research with“Fundamental by ecological engineering” by two major work classes and two parallelclasses in the senior grade of high school. Through the research, comparison andanalyze the difference between major work classes, parallel classes, and the differentlevel classes, this research can explain that the case-based teaching is more suitable forapplication in what type of student community. The results of experiments show that.Case-based teaching in high school biology teaching can improve teaching performance,divergent thinking of students, play a significant part in inspiring students to learnbiology. The case-based teaching can inspire students’ passion which is favorable totrain students’ innovative spirit, practice ability and learning interest. Methods using theinformation collected from self-made questionnaires, for the teachers and studentsrespectively from two aspects of teaching requirements and learning requirements toevaluate objectively the case-based teaching.At last, the thesis as Tieling area for example, in practical terms proposed the case teaching in the actual problems existing in the teaching process, put forward thepossible cause of these problems, and puts forward some reasonable in order to furtherimprove the case teaching. Aims to case teaching combined with biological electivecourse, make the case teaching can be better used in the high school biology teaching.
