Teaching method of team writing is widely used in the worldwide. And it has been proved to be a very effective method to improve the writing level. Fortunately, from the1990s, team writing has been used in the teaching in our country, which leads to more and more researches about it and thus many teachers apply this method to teaching. This method emphasizes the dominant position of the students in the classroom. The initiative of students should be given full attention to. Through this method, we teachers can effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning, develop the potential of students and improve the quality of writing teaching. However, writing has been a key factor to hinder the English level of our students, especially students in rural areas. Meanwhile, it has been a weak link in the high school English teaching.This paper, based on the theories and the present situation of team writing teaching, has explored common problems in high school English Writing. The team writing method has been used to change the classroom interaction between teachers and students, mission driving involved. By this, team members cooperate with each other to discuss the learning of the English writing. The study contains two groups in The Second High School in Liuyang——Class262is the experimental class and the other Class261control class. The writing level of two classes in pre-test is similar. Team writing was carried out on the experimental class for a term, while a regular teaching was adopted in the control class. The research combined with questionnaires, tests, interviews to get the results after the analysis.It is proved to be true that the team teaching can not only improve the students’abilities of interpersonal skills and problem-solving, but also significantly increase their interest in learning English writing and the students’writing skills have been improved obviously. It shows that team learning can enable students to get a sense of accomplishment to learn more, also create a harmonious relationship between teachers and students. So we can make a conclusion that it is effective and necessary to carry out team writing in English writing teaching.
