| Innovative talents are those who have strong personalities, creative spirits and practical abilities. Nowadays, the whole world have realized that education poses the strategic position in international competition, innovation is the strongest sound in education, and a large number of innovative talents are badly needed in the rapid growing economy. Higher education shoulder the mission of training a large number of high level innovative talents, while undergraduate teaching is directly related to the realization of it. What the times require of university teaching is the transition-from "teaching" to "study", from "passiveness" to "activeness", and the key to achieving this transformation is to carry out research learning in the lower grade of the university.In order to smoothly implement the research study, we will try to introduce the idea of research teaching in the course, aiming at reversing the learning concept, changing study way, establishing study habits, forming the research ability and training the capacity of innovation and practice in the lower-grade students, hoping that our students will have stronger competitiveness. How to implement research learning in discipline teaching, which kind of mode the student can apply in learning, which kinds of strategies the can take to promote the effective research learning in the lower grade, based on the large amount of references that have been researched, until now, no systematic study has been conducted as for the questions above. Therefore, this research is not only essential, but also has very important theoretical and practical value.From the background of research learning, this paper analyzed the existing situations and the weak points in the aspect of research learning both home and abroad, and demonstrated the meaning of research learning among lower grade undergraduates and the feasibility of this research. On the ground of the specific educative theories, this paper cleared the essence of research learning, exposited the relationship of the research learning and discipline teaching as well as the characteristic of the research learning. This paper constructed two kinds of research learning modes theoretically,"problem solving" mode, which is to cultivate students’sense of problems, focusing on the overview of topics,"independent innovation" mode, to cultivate students’ability of innovation practice, focusing on academic subject. This paper deliberately discussed the meanings, features, implementation steps and effective implementation strategies of the two learning modes. This paper took "electromagnetic fields" course for example, and two practices tested the effectiveness of the two learning modes and strategies. The first round of practice research, under the mode of "problem solving", was carried out in the2009freshmen in the School of Physics. That is, based on the course Web site platform, students carry out "problem-based" research learning relying on their subject knowledge, with the focus of macro-management and guidance, and through practical activities, research results and evaluation summaries are presented. The second round of practice research, under the "independent innovation" mode, was conducted among the2010freshmen. Relying on discipline knowledge, resorting to the course Web site and MATLAB, the students independently carried out the program to draw electric field, electric potential, magnetic filed maps and studies of charged particle trajectories in research learning activities, with focus on micro-management and guidance, they also set an example of how to put research learning into practice through giving typical cases. In this paper, the learning research modes, strategies, and practice experience will be the best information for us to carry on this study. We also hope that some inspiration can be given. |
