Situation and Policy is an important platform for students to understand the party’s line, principles and policies. It’s also a main position and channel for colleges and universities to strengthen ideological and political work to the students. To deeply explore the successful experience in the construction of Situation and Policy, analyze and solve the practical problems in the standardization of the curriculum construction is both the requirement in the construction of Situation and Policy and a new need of ideological and political education of the students. The paper reviews the development of the course Situation and Policy, analyzes the characteristics of each period, summarizes the course’s main achievements, its main problems and proposes certain measures and suggestions on how to solve these problems. The course’s main achievements and its main problems which are mentioned in the paper are in no case the writer’s subjective conclusion. They are based on survey data and comparison with the requirements about the standardization of the curriculum construction in’The Central Propaganda Development and the Ministry of Education Notice on Further Strengthening the Students’Situation and Policy Education in Higher School’(Teach Social Administration[2004] No.13Document). It ensures the veracity and scientific characteristics of the conclusion. The thesis is based on the research and empirical analysis and focuses on data analysis and case deconstruction, which is full of reasons and arguments. It promotes the Situation and Policy course construction from practical to academic level and from empirical study to theoretic analysis. There is academic innovation and characteristics, which makes up for the lack of related research.
