From the ancient Greek culture to the modern two European and American culture, allhave their unique and beautiful. Whether its ideological content, artistic form or the infiltrationof the humanistic spirit, are worth learning and reference. The middle school language has gonethrough nearly a hundred years, since a century, Chinese teaching has been to Chinese studentsspread the excellent culture. Along with the rise of " Western learning spreading to the East " ofthis wave, foreign literature is more and more into the Chinese teaching materials. It is preciselybecause of this, we need to pay more attention to the significance and value of foreign literatureworks. Foreign literature classic reading, is an important part of Chinese teaching in high school.Therefore," Chinese curriculum standard "(hereinafter referred to as the new curriculum) onmiddle school students’ extracurricular reading made clear, and provides a reference appendix,namely " on reading contents and reading suggestions " at all times and in all countries, theliterary classics as the focus of reading. These literary classics is a crystallization of humanculture, is the youth to accept the core cultural inheritance, is edifying, shape the character ofspiritual food. Foreign literature teaching has always been an important subject, the research onthe one hand, foreign literature teaching can inherit excellent culture, promote world culturalfusion, on the other hand, to improve the quality of high school students, cultivate correctvalues have an important role.However, in recent years, teaching practice, teaching reading foreign literature classic isnot ideal. Because of the impact of China’s education system, and " college entranceexamination baton" under the command of the " examination-oriented education ", bothteachers and students can not focus on the classical foreign literary classics, most cases arepassed over, what is more, the foreign literature classic don’t breathe a word. Some students donot even know the world famous writer and his works. This is an embarrassing phenomenon, asa teacher should think more deeply of this predicament, and strive to get out of this predicament,as students, should be more profound understanding to the foreign literature classic bring themnot in front of " interest points", taking into account the longer " the value of life ".This paper expounds from the following three aspects: first, to explore the problemsexisting in the teaching of reading classical Chinese foreign literature, and briefly expounds thecauses of the problems; secondly, explore the teaching strategies, from the six aspects of thenew curriculum requirements for teachers how to teach foreign literature classics reading thislink; finally, reflective teaching, and puts forward some suggestions, in order to have the reference value for the teaching practice. The paper carries on the discussion to the foreignliterature teaching classics, it is long-term since all language teachers has been a concern, readforeign literature classic teaching only to step onto a new stage, to foster the students ofliterature and humanities quality in new curriculum target.
