Foreign literature has into China's middle school language textbooks for 90 years, but, foreign literature teaching has not been given due attention. With the spread of western education theory and the new curriculum standard issued, people gradually realized its importance, many scholars and teachers began to study them, published many articles which obtain many achievements on the theory and practice research. This paper which based on it is doing the further expansion and discuss.This paper is divided into three parts. First is the introduction including the research background and review related to the academic studies. The second part is the body of the article, including three chapters. The first chapter on the concept of language teaching materials to locate in the foreign literature, history, simple combing their access, followed by reading theory was summed up, and pulls out some reading literary texts of the state-type.Chapter two sets PEP textbooks example, analyses the problems in foreign literature and presentation of the text selection, and points out the actual process of teaching problems and causes. The third chapter with the request to the New Curriculum interpretation, propose multi-angle reading, comparative reading, original reading strategies. At the same time, make the appropriate teaching methods combined with the aesthetic characteristics of different genres of text. The third part of the paper is the conclusion, references and postscript.
