Reading is a kind of important cognitive activities of mankind, it makes people getmeaning from text symbols, obtain information, increase knowledge, rich in mind. Is highschool students from elementary education to higher education is the most important threeyears in high school Chinese teaching, reading is also one of the indispensable. Studentsextracurricular reading extensively, the thorough analysis works, can open student’s field ofvision, strengthen students in class to the reading skills, really improve the reading abilityof students, and the ability to read presses to write, already can learn writing, also canaccumulate material, in promoting students’ writing ability is good.Chinese curriculum for read this link recommended many concrete literary works, theauthor found in the investigation, foreign literary works reading situation is grim. Foreignliterature because of its profound cultural connotation rich unique charm, reading isbeneficial to the improvement of the students’ humanities accomplishment, form of thelanguage comprehensive quality.The author based on this cognition, according to his own interview experience andpractice, as a Chinese college graduate’s point of view from questionnaires carried out amonth-long fieldwork, makes every effort to show the real situation of high school studentsextracurricular reading foreign literature.This article altogether is divided into three parts:The first part mainly through to the questionnaire summary and find problemsexisting in the high school students extracurricular reading. According to the survey, thecontemporary high school students reading interest low state on the whole, they have noclear purpose of reading, reading behavior and purpose of reading, for reading content’schoice is not balanced, and most of the students’ poor reading habits, their extracurricularreading and in-class study in fault state, the peripheral environment also did not givestudents good reading space.The second part focuses on the language of new recommendations from the selectedtitle of genre writer, writing time, nationality and surface analysis of several aspects, suchas its content, and combining with the actual survey summed up the specific reasons forlow rate of foreign literature reading extracurricular books: student enters a higher schoolthe pressure is big, the present situation of the less spare time; The importance of students’extracurricular reading of foreign literature and no certain understanding; Students lack ofinterest in foreign literary works.Above the third part mainly discusses the problems of the forming analysis and put forward to cultivate interest in reading by reading to help students clear aims, teachersduring the teaching theory of reading guidance and support, rich evaluation system and toensure that the peripheral environment on students’ extracurricular reading have a positiveimpact on the solution of the specific strategy.
