High school biology curriculum standards issued by the Ministry of Education in2004advocated a new concept to improve biological science literacy for all students,promote inquiry learning, focusing on contact with real life. However, due to someteachers’ understanding of the new curriculum ideas is not in place, as well as teachers’reasons for the lack of the necessary experience and ability to implement the newcurriculum teaching, resulting in inefficient teaching and invalid teaching in biologyclass,is still evident. Therefore, we must seriously study, reflect on and then grasp theconcept of curriculum standards, according to the actual situation of the Wujiangbiological class teaching, improving some operational strategies and case foreffectiveness of class teaching, for teachers to resolve the current problems exposed inthe biological teaching to provide theoretical and practical guidance, to truly improvethe biological effectiveness of class teaching. This article consists of four parts.First part: This paper described the research background, the significance of theresearch, the research of effective teaching as well as domestic and foreign researchstatus.Part II: Summarized the theories which support effective teaching.Part III: Selected some teachers and students randomly to conduct a survey to gainfirst-hand information and data, analyzed number of deficiencies in Wujiang highschool biology teaching.Part IV: Provided some recommendations to improve the effectiveness of Wujiangbiological class teaching, including: changing the way students learn; strengthen theteaching of experimental and other practical activities; implement the scientific,technical, social education intertwined each other; pay attention to the interdisciplinary; to enhance teachers’ biological Comprehensive strength.
