Abstract/Summary:
The development of preschool education is related to the healthy growth of children, interests of thousands of households and the future of a country and nation. The body is the most direct embodiment and the existence basis of the life, but also relying on the intellectual, moral, aesthetic. Therefore, preschool education is great significance for the healthy growth of children. Preschool education in Chongqing city has been developing of steadily and popularity since1997. But generally speaking, to promote children’s physical and mental harmony development goal has not been achieved. Pay attention to intellectual education and despise sport’s phenomenon still exist in early childhood education. Therefore, this study used a questionnaire survey method, interview method and literature investigation on current situation of preschool physical education in Chongqing city. It will find solutions to promote the development of preschool physical education staring from the investigation of the present situation in Chongqing city. The study drew the following conclusions:Physical education is existed universally in all kinds of kindergarten. But professional preschool PE teachers are very scarce. The reasons for this phenomenon is mainly with the traditional concept of gender division of labor education, sports education specialized graduate employment intention and set of preschool education major. Preschool physical education mainly depends on the part-time physical education teachers to complete now. These teachers generally agree that physical education is the most important value on the development of children’s body, but the lack of understanding of the multiple values of sports. The lack of sports value comprehensive understanding and general teachers had not received systematic professional sports learning.Preschool physical education teaching organization form in Chongqing City mainly includes:morning exercises, class-break setting-up exercise, sports etc. The teaching contents include the following categories:basic movement practice, basic gymnastics, physical exercise, sports equipment exercise, physical activity and creative practice of sports games. Among them, sports game is most in common. In the choice of teaching content arbitrariness is relatively large and related to lack the physical textbooks. Sports equipment commonly used in the teaching process including slide, large portfolio, Trojans, ball rack and the size of the ball. However, due to different kindergarten school conditions, the terrain and the environment is different, the type and quantity of equipment vary.The further development of Chongqing City Sports Education for preschool children, should strengthen the publicity and interpretation of the value of physical education, changing the concept of education; actively carry out teachers’in-service training; pay attention to the introduction of graduates majoring in physical education, construct the gender balance of teachers; change the teaching form, pay attention to children’s sports experience; to strengthen the public service supply of preschool education, improve early childhood physical education environment.
