Aimed at improving the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing,the teaching of Chinese in a senior high school in China can improve students’ humanityaccomplishment and help students master a skill of usingChinese, certain aesthetic ability and a skill of exploring. It can also help students form agood ideological and moral qualities as well as scientific and cultural accomplishment so as tolay the foundation of lifelong learning and personal development. It is generally believed thatthe language ability is an important reflection of people’s work ability and creative ability.Besides, having a good knowledge of language application and writing ability is not onlywhat they need to take up their major work, but the essential skills that they must master toparticipate in scientific research and enterprise management in future. Especially for studentsof science, learning Chinese well is of special significance. Learning Chinese well can helpstudents form sound personalities, improve their cultural literacy, deal with complex andtough interpersonal relationship and learn other academic subjects.However, in high school Chinese teaching, the author found that the humanity qualityof science students is not as good as we expect. They are buried in preparing for all kinds ofexaminations all day and all night. Thinking that they can deal with all the problems aboutChinese learning only by reciting several fixed patterns instead of accumulation andcomprehension of Chinese learning, they spend most of their time on math, science andEnglish after school. Science students prefer speaking some simple ideas to thinking carefullyand creating organized written materials. Even in summer and winter classes, few studentsmajor in Chinese. In conclusion, their ex parte recognition, utilitarian mentality and lack ofpractical methods of studying Chinese are the reasons why most of them have no interest instudying Chinese and get low grades in Chinese, which makes us teaching staff worried a lot.There are two main reasons for this phenomenon. On the one hand, the science studentspay more attention to abstract thinking than image thinking, to the result than the process.Besides, there exist deviations in their understanding of Chinese studying. The teachers’ class,on the other hand, is very dull and they don’t focus on aesthetic edification so that studentshave not enough emotional experience and can not sublimate their personality. Furthermore,the educational evaluation is unreasonable, which only stresses the achievement of good grades, but ignore the development of students’ emotion, attitudes and values. It was notstudents’ attitudes and methods of studying Chinese that the educational evaluation systemfocuses on, but the teaching skills of teachers; it’s not the difference between individuals thatthe system focus on, but the degree of difficulty and depth of teaching points.How to improve science students’ humanity accomplishment is what we Chineseteachers in senior high school must try our best to think about. First, we must help studentscultivate the modern Chinese education approach, build the new basic ideas ofquality-oriented education, highlight teaching effect, arouse students’ desire to explore andquestion, and enhance communication between students. Second, we should work under thestate of researching and use the textbooks creatively, making teaching materials life-based,problem-based and learned through all kinds of activities. Third, we should study furtherteaching materials’ aesthetic value of teaching in class. Last but not least, in order to solve thecurrent problems in Chinese teaching, we Chinese teachers should improve our personalaccomplishment and personal charm to make ourselves become researchers, learners andpartners.Based on the present situation of science students’ studying Chinese in a senior highschool, the author combines modern Chinese teaching theory and the experience of languageteaching research for more than ten years, aiming to build the framework of Chinese languageteaching with strong pertinence so that the current embarrassing situation of the Chineseteaching can be solved effectively. I hope through the research, we can offer some advice forChinese teachers to train more excellent talents with Chinese accomplishment.
