Early childhood education is the foundation of education. Reasonableconnection of kindergarten and elementary school is the objective needs andrequirements for the physical and mental development of children. Therefore, theconnection between kindergarten and primary school has been widespreadlyconcerned around the world. How to really achieve the connection betweenkindergarten and primary school has become the current educational research.France is one of the few western countries in which early childhood educationis included in the scope of basic education. The education sector considers that theearly childhood education plays an important role in the future of lifelong educationand is also the key to the success of the children’s future academy. When childrenenter primary school from kindergarten, they will face with the sudden change in thecontent of education, the environment, the goals, and appear a lot of new problems. Inorder to help children to transit to the next stage smoothly and healthily, not only theenacting of the education policies, the setting of educational goals the implementationof bridging programs but also the building of the faculty, France has made greatefforts. Especially the set of “the learning stages” of the education in France treat thekindergarten and primary school as a whole and make a positive contribution to theconnection between the kindergarten and primary school. It is favorable forpre-school children entering the primary school.This thesis includes six parts:The first part is the introduction. It will introduce the selection of topic’sbackground and significance, purpose, content, methods and framework of the paper,then but forward to the question of the study.The second part is the literature review. It will summarize the research statusabout the connection between kindergarten and primary school in the domestic andoverseas, the research about the French pre-school education, and the connection between kindergarten and primary school in France for providing theoretical supportand reference.The third part is the overview of the history of the connection betweenkindergarten and primary school in France. By the description of the historicaldevelopment of convergence through an overview of French national conditions,culture and educational system of the connection between kindergarten and primaryschool in France, expound the reasons why the author chose France kindergarten andprimary education system for the study.The fourth part is the implementation of the education system for theconnection between kindergarten and primary school in France, from the Frenchnational education system, educational administration and the structured curriculumplanning. Then the author will analyze a series of system and policy which hasadopted by France.The fifth part is the revelation of the education system for the connectionbetween kindergarten and primary school in France. We can reform the policies andregulations, the quality of teachers, curriculum implementation and home cooperationto seize the peak of the intellectual development of children.The last part is the conclusion. It will be the summary of this study, analyze theshortage, and put forward to the prospects and advice for future research.
