The problem of women’s employment has been subject to widespread concern in academic circles both in China and foreign countries. There is a huge literature in this research area. After entering the new century, the Chinese economy and society develope substantively. With the continuous improvement of the economy and the rising of women’s educational level, women’s employment problem becomes a very important issue in the new socioeconomic context. Therefore, studing women’s employment may provide empirical evidence for China’s macro economic and social policy and empirical reference for solving the employment problem of Chinese women. Using data from2003,2005,2006,2008, and2010CGSS (Chinese General Social Survey), I use descriptive statistical method, binary logistic model and multinomial logistic model to analyze the overall trend of the urban female employment rate and the factors of the women’s employment and employment status after entering the new century. The quantitative analysis shows that:1, Between2003-2010,Chinese urban female employment rate increased year by year;2, With women’s education levels higher, the probability of female participation in the labour market is higher, and the female retired rate is higher;3,As the political capital, the party membership has a positive role to the women’s employment, the rate of female participation in the labour market of the party members is higher than non party women;4, The other members of family income has a positive effect on the employment of women, the higer of the family income, the higher of the probability of female participation in the labour market;5, Children under the age of5has a negative effect on the probability of employment of women, female participation in the labour market of the women have children5years old or younger is lower than who don’t have children5years old or younger. This article is divided into five parts.
