China’s private colleges after nearly thirty years of development, has become a kind of important education type, whether the number of schools and students in total has exceeded the undergraduate colleges, occupy half of the country " in Higher Education in china ". Effectively implement the senior applied talents training and social services, economic development, however, China’s Higher Vocational Colleges under the new situation encountered bottleneck, students continued to decline, and other higher vocational colleges face competition, and even universities and colleges competition, competition, competition is fierce, can is the opportunity and challenges, difficulties and hopes coexist, in this context, how to cast off predicament, cope with challenges, to achieve sustainable development? The key lies in the formulation of development strategies, according to the environmental change foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses, seeking the greatest competitive advantage, this needs to form different from other colleges and universities of their own unique style of education, goal pursuit in the long-term educational practice, characteristics, consistently superior to the other institutions of the style and mode gradually formed, unique advantages and the further strengthening and development. The unique advantage of this worthy of our research and exploration.Facing the new situation of the survival and development of private higher education, must develop strategic research, strengthening the connotation construction, improve the quality of education and teaching, in order to obtain the competitive advantage. SIU is a private college located in Shandong Province, with language as its main professional settings of the private universities, SIU can use the higher education demand, rapid development, but also face from other universities or institutions of education competition. In this case, in order to rapid, sustained, healthy development of implementation of SIU in private colleges, combined with the actual situation, fully consider the college faces internal and external environment, formulate the correct strategy and innovative for the school, is very important for SIU.In this paper, based on the competitive strategy theory, combining the development of private education in China and reference for the development of private higher education in foreign countries and the enlightenment, with combination of theory and practice, to analyze the development strategy of SIU in private colleges. The results showed that SIU of private colleges and universities in the current environment, should take the development strategy of differentiation, the formation of competitive advantage of location, such as in the school development way of teaching, education mode, management professional setting, brand building, campus culture and so on, in order to ensure the development of the school is good and fast and sustainable.
