Investigation And Analysis On Current Situation Cheerleading Of The Institutions Of Higher Learning In Xi’an Area

Cheerleading originated in the United States of America. It was introduced intoChina in1997by the Chinese Students Association of artistic gymnastics, so it startsfrom the Chinese College students in the next development. Due to the uniquecharacteristics of cheerleading and kinds of styles, Cheerleading developed quickly.Then，it carries out a number of cheerleading competitions among college students allover the country to improve the development of cheerleading. Cheerleading has beenpopularized in28cities until2010and it develops more rapidly in Guangdong,Guangxi. In recent years, cheerleading which is arranged by college students is notonly limited to universities, but also used for a variety of celebrations, such asopening ceremony.In this paper, students and teachers which were selected from Xi’an PhysicalEducation University, Chang’an University, Northwestern Polytechnic University,Xi’an Electronic and Science University, Northwestern University, etc. They wereasked to fill in a questionnaire using the method of literature, questionnaire, expertinterview, mathematical statistics, as well as logic analysis. Meanwhile we madeanalysis of situation and problems, took measures to solve them and it will makemuch progress in Xi’an colleges and universities. Conclusions of the study are asfollows:1.Cheerleading is not balanced in Xi’an colleges and universities, the overalllevel is low, because the teaching content is dance cheerleading.2.Ones who are involved in cheerleading group mainly are the female, it isserious imbalance in sex ratio, and the main motivation is to have a strong interest incheerleading.3. Cheerleading exercise teaching is conducted in Aerobics teaching process withholding. Most of the coaches are aerobics professional teachers, in the majority withyoung age distribution, and teachers hold fewer coaches training, so the teachers arelack of professional knowledge, leading the competition experience is insufficient, belack of education scientific research ability.4. leaders in Xi’an colleges and universities do not pay enough attention to thecheerleading, exercise training ground facilities are not perfect, there are highersecurity hidden dangers, cheerleading development lack in funding, a single fundingsources.5.Training time of Xi’an cheerleading is short and is not systematic enough,influence on the teaching effect.
