Private higher vocational colleges belong to the high level of the private education and the admission objects are the high school graduates whose collegeentrance exam scores are lower than those in the general public colleges. Therefore itprovides the learning opportunityfor those who got lower college entrance exam scores,but still hope to continue receiving their higher education. Although both are higher education, compared with the regular higher education, the obvious features of vocational education mainly lie in the professional skills, localization and marketability of the education and also embody its self-funding, independentschool and the management approaching to that in the enterprise. That creates the unit nature of the private higher vocational colleges that is business combines enterprises. And the management of human resources and incentive mechanism are also distinctive.Private higher vocational education in Yunnan has found its own regional characteristics and advantage of education, and adapted to the needs of the social and economic development, therefore it has made great achievements. According to statistics, currently in Yunnan there are more than10private higher schools with the qualification of awarding the diploma. And among them, the College of J is the fastest growing and largest.J College, founded in1992. is one of the earliest social educational institutions in Yunnan Province. The College of J, authorized by the People’s Government of Yunnan Province and registered in the Ministry of Education, upgraded to a full-time vocational college with the qualifications of issuing the national acknowledgement diplomas in2004.The development of the college has gone through several steps from the school of thepremises of dozens of students to10.000students and from a few of the faculty to thousands of people. It has also experienced the numerous personnel reform. But until now there still exist the problems of the irrational structure of teachers, the high mobility of teachers and many other issues.In order to research the management status and problems of the incentive mechanism of private higher vocational colleges, this paper taking J College as an example will investigate the human resources situation of the teachers in J College. make an analysis ofthe problems existing in the teachers’incentive mechanism and put forward the corresponding countermeasures. This will provide the reference significance for the development of private higher vocational colleges in Yunnan Province.
