Discipline Evaluation is currently the focus of attention of experts and scholars at home and abroad, but the research on the evaluation of the performance of discipline construction is not too much. With the central and local governments to increase invest in higher education, and growing requirement of the output. Discipline is scientific research and personnel training as a university carrier, it is an important sign to measure at the level of university and overall comprehensive. Starting from the perspective of empirical research, we use the method of least square model to analysis material data of Chongqing during the’Eleventh Fifth-Year’periods. The construction of university research subject is of great theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, the main results are as follows:First, through the theoretical analysis, we believe that the discipline of the university is a system that has inputs input and output output function, the development of the discipline need to obtain external resources and output discipline results, disciplines strengths and advantages depends on its competitive ability to possess the resources. The least squares method is a mathematical methods that is w idely used, especially for the analyzing a lot of data. By the least squares method, it is possible to easily identify a best approximation of a large amount of data, as a measure of the overall average. In the evaluation of disciplines, for each category of subjects, such as natural a discipline, as it relates to the large number of disciplines, and each discipline design to large amounts of data processing, we believe that to find an overall average to measure each subject is more reasonable. This was in line with the conditions of application of the method of least squares. Therefore, introduce the theory of the least squares method to the subject of evaluation is feasible.Second, The papers build the discipline of evaluation index system. This system consists of four classification index and thirty-one sub-category indicator. The paper collect the data of the17universities in Chongqing in Eleventh Five-year Plan Period, contain36Municipal key a disciplines and111Municipal key secondary disciplines. According to the needs of the Model computing, the relevant data were normalized.Third, though an Empirical Analysis, the input-output model is applied to the least squares method Evaluation of Chongqing University Discipline respectively, compared Chongqing Humanities level subjects, two disciplines of the humanities, the natural level disciplines and natural two subjects efficiency, the results of the evaluation and reality coincide better.On the basis of this study, we proposed to further strengthen the construction of the colleges and universities of disciplines put forward opinions and suggestions.
