Discipline is not only the basic unit of university,but also the basic unit of teaching,scientific research,personnel training and social service.The school's discipline development state reflects its overall strength and level.At present,under the background of "double first-class" construction,subject construction is regarded as the core of university construction.As the main body of "double first-class" construction,the status and level of discipline development in China's "double first-class" construction colleges and universities not only involves schools Management and decision-making also involve the formulation of national policies,which have an important impact on the implementation of the “double first-class” construction of this national strategy,therefore,it is of great significance to make a scientific and reasonable evaluation of the state of the development of the "double first-class" universities.Based on this,this research uses the third and fourth round of disciplinary evaluation results and the number of ESI disciplines as the basic data to discuss the disciplinary development level of China's "double first-class" construction universities through empirical research.On this basis,the disciplinary advantages are designed.The three indicators of degree,overall strength of the subject,and degree of adaptation of the subject level evaluate the overall status of subject development in universities with "double first-class" construction.Research indicates:(1)As far as construction of the first-class universities is concerned,Firstly,in recent years,it has improved in the discipline dominance,the whole strength of discipline and discipline level adaptation,with discipline level adaptation of the most significant improvement,discipline competitiveness progress is the slowest.Secondly,a few universities have achieved the coordinated and high quality development of discipline dominance,the whole strength of discipline and discipline level adaptation,and some schools have achieved remarkable improvement in all three indexes.Thirdly,there is a significant gap between the group of the construction of the first-class universities in discipline dominance,the whole strength of the discipline and discipline level adaptation,especially in the discipline dominance and the whole strength of the discipline.(2)In terms of word-class discipline constructing universities,First,this group has made some progress in the discipline dominance,the whole strength of the discipline and discipline level adaptation,the most significant progress discipline level adaptation and the less progress in the discipline dominance.Second,the group's coordination in the three aspects of discipline dominance,the whole strength of the discipline and discipline level adaptation is very inadequate.The number of colleges and universities in the top position of the three indicators is 0,the discipline dominance,the overall strength of the discipline and discipline level adaptation in a few colleges and universities have achieved obvious coordinated development.Third,the first-class discipline construction colleges and universities are at a relatively low level in terms of the discipline dominance and the whole strength of the discipline,while discipline level adaptation is clearly high and low,with significant internal differences.Based on this,this study believes that as China's high-level universities and the first batch of world-class universities,the "double-first-class" universities have made certain progress in the discipline construction,but there is still a clear gap compared with the world-class,This gap is mainly reflected in two aspects: One is that the overall level of the subject is not strong enough and the coordination of development is insufficient.The second is that the dominance of the subject is not outstanding,which is far behind the world-class universities.Therefore,in the follow-up development,in order to solidly promote the realization of the grand goal of world-class universities and world-class disciplines,universities with "double first-class" construction should make efforts in the following two aspects,the first is to strengthen the construction of superior disciplines and improve the dominance of the disciplines.The second is to create a discipline ecology and improve the overall level of discipline.Efforts should be made to promote the coordinated and rapid development of discipline levels,and provide a strong foundation for the construction of world-class universities.
