The competition among universities is the competition of disciplines. The main reason that universities can be top universities is they have top disciplines.In order to improve integrated and competitive strength, universities and disciplines are paying close attention to the trends of disciplines, drawing up rational and scientific developing plans, strengthening scientific research and talented person training, enlarging the investment in outlay and equipments, adjusting the orientation of resources continuously. On the base of expounding the background and related theories, through scientific and systematic analyses, this research is to define the target of discipline evaluation, to calculate the importance of target by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process which combines determining the amounts and the nature and establish evaluation system. The last part is case application. According to the materials information of evaluated disciplines, using evaluation system, we can evaluate disciplines, gets and analyze the result of evaluation, which can make the advantage and shortage of disciplines clear, find the place of similar disciplines and clear the developing orientation, so as to improve the development the disciplines and enhance the strength of disciplines by discipline evaluation.Through consulting a large number of related technical materials, I've understood the present condition of discipline evaluation, established universities' discipline evaluation system and used case application. The dissertation is divided into three parts, theoretical analyses, establishing system and case analyses.Theoretical analyses include chapter land chapter 2. The introduction briefs the background, the meaning, the native and external present situation and the method of research. Chapter 2 defines the conception of discipline and discipline evaluation, the characteristics, classifications, methods and contents of discipline evaluation.Chapter 3 introduces the principles of establishing universities' discipline evaluation system, the target analyses of system, the establishment of target system, defining the target importance and evaluation standard, and the calculation of evolution results.Taking 13 universities and 15 state key disciplines as examples, the last chapter gets the general and particular evolution results through evaluating the 15 state key disciplines using target system, and analyses the above results.
